Word of Mouth – What are NI adults talking about?
The power of the silver screen is certainly in evidence in the latest Northern Ireland TGI survey, with 72% of adults in NI having discussed films in the last 12 months – surpassing all other areas of interest.
Music is the second most talked-about subject in the last 12 months (69% of the population) while other topics faring well include holidays & travel (67%) and food & dining (67%).
Northern Irish consumers are also talkative when it comes to their mobiles: 64% of NI adults talked about mobile phones over the last 12 months, a rise of 12% in two years. This compared to only 57% of adults in GB talking about their handsets.
The latest data also points towards the Northern Irish consumer posting more reviews or comments online about products and services than their counterparts in GB: 13% of NI consumers have written online about music, compared to 8% in Britain; 12% have reviewed films compared to 7% in GB and 10% have discussed websites, compared to 6% on the other side of the Irish sea.
