Northern Ireland turns up heat on rest of UK

Perhaps Gregg Wallace and John Torode should turn to Northern Ireland to find the next Masterchef champion, as adults in Northern Ireland are 18% more likely than their GB counterparts to regularly cook as a hobby.

A high proportion of the NI adult population (55%) like to try new recipes and an equally high share (54%) prefer to prepare meals from scratch. Indeed, NI adults are slightly more likely than GB adults to be very interested in cooking/recipe articles in newspapers or magazines.

In terms of where they source ingredients for their culinary creations, NI adults are 88% more likely than their GB equivalents to regularly shop at a butcher and 25% more likely to regularly shop at a greengrocer.
